Toyota Forklifts in South Africa
Toyota holds the largest market share of any forklift brand in South Africa. The 7FD and 8FD diesel counterbalance series are workhorses of the mining, steel and logistics sectors. The 7FGF and 8FGF LPG series are standard in enclosed warehouse environments. Toyota's Traigo electric series is increasingly common in modern distribution centres.
All Toyota models use robust but serviceable engines — the 1DZ-II and 2Z diesel engines, the 4Y petrol/LPG engine, and the AC induction motors on the Traigo electric range. Parts availability is excellent and Duane's maintains stock of the most commonly needed items.

Timing Chain Stretch on 2Z/1DZ Engines
The Toyota 2Z and 1DZ diesel engines are prone to timing chain stretch after high mileage or irregular oil changes. Symptoms include rattling on startup and reduced power. Early intervention prevents full engine failure.
Injector Wear
Diesel injector wear on older 1DZ engines causes hard starting, blue smoke and high fuel consumption. We clean, test and replace injectors using calibrated equipment.
Hydraulic Pump Wear
Toyota 7FD and 8FD series hydraulic pumps show wear after heavy use — symptoms include slow lifting and reduced hydraulic pressure. Pump rebuilds and replacements are stocked.
